The Chute Company recommends frequent cleaning appointments to maintain a hygenic and odor-free system.

How frequent should your chute, trash room, and compactor be cleaned?
Hundreds of garbage bags go down most mid-rise residential chutes every week!
Stinky, garbage-grime lined trash systems attract flies and rodents!
Not only are they gross – a dirty chute presents a fire hazard.
Monthly
20 floors +
High rises, dormatories, senior homes, hospitals
Quarterly
6 – 19 floors
Most modern mid-rise building managers choose this
Semi-Annual
1 to 5 floors
Low density / use residential & commercial
We recommend monthly  Space Foamtreatment for Quarterly and Semi-Annual customers!
Quarterly service or more frequent is recommended to maintain a safe and hygenic chute system.

Choosing the Right Compactor

By The Chute Monster

Believe it or not, there are building management teams out there paying for extra dumpster capacity due to the lack of a compactor. These units are a great alternative to crushing trash with a forklift on a busy holiday, but you want to make an informed decision on which to purchase.

  • Capacity – The compactor unit should be sized to where the duty cycle versus cost makes sense. An oversized unit may not be the most appropriate option, but an undersized unit will wear faster and be more problematic.
  • Automation – Is your building trash throughput as such to where you need an automatic unit? This is a consideration when labor cannot be provided to clear the trash discharge area before the chute gets clogged.
  • Design – Don't know what design is best fit for your building, or are you looking for the quietest? There is a checklist of considerations that should be referenced prior to purchasing any compactor.

If your chute is constantly clogging, or you are in need of a new compactor unit – give us a call. Our professionals can help meet the trash throughput requirements needed by your tenants.
