What happens if I forget to put my bins by the curb?
Contact us as soon as possible via phone, text, email, or live chat. We will work diligently in rescheduling your service the next time we are in your area.
What if I don’t want to reschedule? Can I get a refund?
If Space City arrives at your home and your cans are not out, there is a service fee of $27.50. If you would like to skip a service, you must reach out 48 hours prior to the service to receive a refund.
What if the city does not pick up trash and recycling?
No worries, this happens from time to time. Contact us as soon as possible. We will work diligently in rescheduling your service the next time we are in your area.
Why is my monthly service date sometimes at the beginning of the month and sometimes at the end of the month?
Sometimes we adjust our schedule to align with the city’s holiday schedule. We will get you back on track once the holidays are over.
What if I am a previous client and would like to reinstate my services, do I need to fill out a new form online?
No, you can give us a call, chat, text, or email and our team will review your profile and let you know if we need any additional information from you.
What if my HOA does not allow my bins to stay out by the curb for longer than 24 hours?
We have had clients in the past reach out to their HOA and get approval to have your bins out on the day of service. If this is not possible, please coordinate a resolution with our team by reaching out to us via phone, email, text or live chat.
When will I be billed?
All clients are billed on the 28th of the month before their service. For example, if your service is scheduled in November, you will be billed for that service on October 28th.
How long should I leave my bins by the curb?
Depending on traffic on the day of your service our drivers can arrive between 8 am – 8 pm, we ask that you verify that you have received a confirmation email prior to pulling your bins in.
What if my cans are not empty?
Please ensure your cans are empty prior to your cleaning appointment. We will collect the garbage, but a $15 emptying fee per large bag of trash will be charged to your account.
How often should I have my trash cans cleaned?
You can have your cans cleaned on a Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annual, or One-time. Whichever suits your needs best.

What is the Space City Sanitizers BioTrauma Solutions Process?
First, our BioTrauma Solutions team fully removes any contamination and takes care of the disposal. Next, the location is deep-cleaned and sanitized. During this process, our specialized air sanitizing machines are used to decontaminate and filter the air in the room. The location is left clean, sanitary and refreshed.
Does SCS BioTrauma Solutions handle repairs to a contaminated location?
Our role is to remove contaminated materials and present a safe working area for the repair to take place. After sanitizing, the Space City Sanitizers BioTrauma Solutions team can reconstruct the location to look the same or even better than before.
Does SCS BioTrauma Solutions handle radioactive materials, nuclear waste, or hazardous chemicals or elements?
We do not handle radioactive or hazardous materials and chemicals that pose a risk to our personnel (such as, but not limited to, certain acids, liquids and gases, mercury, or fermaldehyde) and recommend that you contact a company specializing in hazardous material and/or radioactive contamination removal.
Examples of what we will clean:
Biohazardous material such as fecal matter, urine, vomit, blood, etc.

How much should I pay for trash chute cleaning?
There are several factors that go into the cost associated with trash chute cleaning – and often, plain search results and AI answers don’t paint the clear picture.

Does my chute need locks? Are the doors safe?
Securing chute doors using a locking system protects workers maintaining the chute. There are various types of lock systems available – from manual to fully interlocking automatic. Modern chute entry doors offer child entry protection features and antimicrobial surfaces.
My chute is clogged, can you unclog it?

I have a fly problem in my building, could it be the chutes?

What items are suitable for composting?
Compostable items include fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, eggshells, yard waste (like leaves and grass), and certain paper products. Avoid adding meat, dairy, and oily items for healthy compost. Do not discard animal waste in municipal and/or public waste compost systems.
Can I recycle containers covered with food residue?
It’s best to recycle clean containers as residue can contaminate the recycling process. Food and liquids discarded in the recycling chute will contribute to odors and grime, which with a recycling chute is generally avoidable.
How should I properly use the trash chute?
Ensure items are bagged securely before disposal to minimize litter and odors. Avoid disposing of hazardous materials, large or bulky items, and anything that may damage the chute.
Is it okay to mix recyclables with regular trash?
No, it’s important to separate recyclables from regular trash. Mixing them can contaminate recyclable materials and render them non-recyclable. Always use designated recycling bins for recyclable items.
Can I discard pet waste in the city compost?
It’s prohibited to compost pet waste due to pathogen contamination. Cat litter must be discarded directly into the trash from dumpster level or one floor up. Dog waste must be contained in a large bag with other trash to ensure it won’t explode on impact. Consider using specialized pet waste disposal methods or systems.
What should I do if the trash chute is blocked?
If the trash chute is blocked, do not attempt to force items down. Do not take the trash to a higher floor and drop it on top of the clog. Report the issue to building maintenance immediately. Avoid disposing of large or inappropriate items, such as pizza boxes, to prevent chute blockages.
Are glass items recyclable in the building recycling program?
Yes, glass items are often recyclable. Ensure they are clean and free of any contaminants. Check with your waste removal company’s recycling guidelines for specific instructions.

How long until the space is ready for occupancy after fogging?
After an antimicrobial fogging sanitization treatment, the disinfected space will be ready for occupancy in as little as 15 minutes. The application of the fog will have killed all viruses and bacteria by that time.
Do you offer same-day fogging?
We’re available within the same day if that is what you require. For non-emergency customers, we also offer to set up one time appointments or recurring treatments.
How long does the antimicrobial fog treatment last?
The fogged area can remain resilient against viruses and bacteria for up to 30 days.
Can the antimicrobial fog be applied to large rooms?
Yes, we can fog anything from a trailer, to a classroom, to a basketball arena.
How often should I fog?
Always fog after a space has been used for a gathering of the public. Private space scheduling needs to consider volume of use; classrooms, for example, require monthly treatment. Any space should be treated after an ill person has occupied it.
Does the antimicrobial fogging process harm animals or birds?
The fog is a fine condensed particulate for a brief time while it dispurses into the air. We will not be able to service any location unless all animals and birds have been removed from the space which will be subject to antimicrobial fogging treatment or air revitalization.
How safe is the antimicrobial fog on electronics?
100% safe. The antimicrobial fog does not harm electronic devices.
Do you offer air sanitization & revitalization/deodorization treatment?
Yes, we have special machines that can circulate and sanitize large volumes of air for special needs cases. These capabilities allow us to extend our services beyond antimicrobial fogging a space and into deep treatment which can also fully eliminate odor in addition to killing viruses and bacteria.
Hoarding Removal & Eviction Response
We provide professional property, furniture, junk & garbage removal services. We can help with a simple eviction, or a full-on hoard. I need help with an eviction – will SCS perform the eviction?
We will not perform the eviction itself; when the jobsite is safe, we will commence removal of all specified items. Please have all individuals removed from the location prior.
Are there biohazards associated with hoarding?
Yes, there exists a greater risk of contracting hantavirus from improperly disposed of garbage and junk, as rodents can sneak in and nest within these locations and breed out. It’s also possible to contract lung ailments and blood pathogens from handling trash material, including tetanis.
What does Space City Sanitizers BioTrauma Solutons do with the materials removed?
It’s assumed that all remaining valuables have been removed from the location prior to the SCS BioTrauma Solutions team arriving on site. An appropriate sized trash removal unit will be obtained to transport the removed materials from the site to a proper disposal site.
Can SCS BioTrauma Solutions restore an home or site to a pre-hoarding condition?
We’re fully capable of rebuilding the location exactly to your specifications. This is commonly asked of us in preparation for a sale or to turn over a dwelling to a new tenant. We also see barns and storage units with a family of raccoons living inside. If you find them, give us a call.
I have a hoarding problem that also comes with animals, and their waste. Can you help?
We’ll first work with the appropriate organizations and authorities to take care of the animals on site. Pet waste is then delt with per standard procedure, and the site is returned to normal standards.
